Squirrel’s children have recently been having lots of fun with a ‘sea theme’, looking at what animals we know under the sea, and seeing which ones we can recreate, such as paper plate jellyfish; practicing our fine motor scissor skills to give our jellyfish legs, and creating starfish; using cheerios to stick on for the tentacle suckers! Squirrel’s have then loved ‘pirate play’, dressing up, making telescopes and treasure chests, paper plate parrots and searching for treasure and gold in the sand tray.
Next month, Squirrels will be talking about farm and zoo animals, as lots of the children have had trips out over the summer. They will be helping the farm animals in the gloopy mud, making animal print pictures, and matching animal puzzles with their pattern and body parts.
