Early Years Funding Policy

Cleverclogs nursery offers 2, 3 and 4 year old early education funding. This provides parents with 15 hours and for those parents eligible, we offer an additional 15 hours (Term time only- 38 weeks) funding

Funding offered

Disadvantaged 2 Year funding is means tested and eligible parents will need to issue the nursery with a code before starting the setting. These codes must be used within 3 months of being issued. 2-year-old funding can be claimed the term after the child’s second birthday. This code can then be used until the
term after the child’s third birthday when they will be eligible for the three- year funding.

All 3 and 4 year old children are entitled to the universal element of the funding and will become eligible the term after their 3rd birthday. They will continue to be entitled to this until they start reception class or the term after their 5th Birthday.

Working families, who are eligible are able to claim up to 30 hours funding for three year olds and 15hours funding for two years olds (this begins the term after their birthday). A valid eligibility code must be obtained and provided to the setting before the start of the term. Parents and carers can apply for this
code here: https://www.gov.uk/help-with-childcare-costs This code needs to re-confirmed every 3 months to ensure you remain eligible. The nursery offers a maximum of 30 hours per week (term time only) for all eligible children.

Total funded hours

The total number of hours we can claim per claim year is as follows:

A claim year is the 12 months from the date at which the child entitlement starts.

Therefore for a child who begins claiming their funding from the Spring term (1st January to 31st March) the year will run 1st January to 31st December. Claiming funding from the Summer term (1st April to 31st August) the year will run 1st April to 31st March.

Claiming funding from the Autumn term (1st September to 31st December) the year will run 1st September to 31st August.

As a setting we will not allow parents/ carers to claim more than the recommended hours as stipulated by Norfolk County Council. However, if maximum hours are not fully claimed in term 1 or 2, these can be carried over to term 2 or 3.

Term time only contracts

We do offer term time only contracts for children in receipt of early educational funding. We mirror Norfolk County Council’s school term dates and therefore any sessions outside of these dates will be charged in line with our current fee structure.

Funding forms

Parents/ Carers must complete a funding form before each term, which allows the nursery to claim the correct amount of hours for your child. This form will also need to include any additional settings that your child will be attending. If this form is not returned then we will be unable to claim funded hours for you and full fees will be payable. Parents/ carers are required to provide us with a copy of their child’s birth certificate on starting at the setting, a copy of which we will keep on file for future reference in accordance with our GDPR policy.

Fees

For Three and four year old funding, if your child attends the nursery for more than just three half days (term time only), you will be charged a consumable rate of £8 for a half day and £15 for a full day.
For two year old funding, if your child attends the nursery for more than just three half days (term time only), you will be charged a consumable rate of £3 for a half day and £5 for a full day.

Please note that if you are not entitled to the hours that you originally claimed on your child’s claim form, you will be liable to pay for these sessions.

Deposit

For children who attend over their funded sessions then we will require the £100 deposit which is taken off your last month’s fees. If you only attend the setting for your funded sessions, then we will waive the deposit charge. If at a later date, you wish to attend for extra sessions or sessions beyond the funded sessions, then a deposit will become payable.

Terminating your child’s funded place

We will need a minimum of one calendar’s month notice to terminate your child’s place. We will therefore claim any funding owed for this month.
