FAQs

What do I need to bring to nursery?

We ask that practical clothing is worn by the children, as most relish the opportunity given to them to indulge in “messy play”, encompassing arts, crafts and baking. Aprons are encouraged but, on occasions, enjoyment overtakes practicality which leads to a second request –a change of clothing. Please supply indoor shoes, and that all items of clothing are clearly named. Welly boots and coat/hat/gloves are required in winter and a sun hat and sun cream in the summer. If required, we ask that you supply nappies and wipes and a comforter.

What if my child is ill?

Should your child suffer from sickness, we ask that you keep them at home for at least 48 hours after the symptoms cease before bringing them back into nursery.

If your child becomes ill whilst at the nursery, we will inform you immediately and make your child comfortable until you are able to collect him/her.

If your child requires medication, we are happy to administer this, with written consent from yourself to do so. The child must have been taken the medication for 24 hours before coming into nursery.

Who can pick up my child?

The safety of your child is most important to us. On joining the nursery we will ask you to provide the names of persons authorized to collect your child, please note these do need to be over the age of 16 years. We will only allow people named on this list to collect your child and we ask that you inform us if the usual person is not collecting your child. We will also request a password for added security.

My child is eligible for early years funding?

Early years funding allows 15-30 flexible hours (Term time only) over 2-5 days. These funded hours are taken off your monthly invoices. Please note our minimum session times are 5 hours long and run from 8am-1pm or 1pm-6pm.

How do I terminate my child’s place?

We ask for one month’s written notice to withdraw or cancel a session. If you require extra sessions, then please email the nursery. These will need to be completed in advance so we can try to accommodate your child.
